Program Checklist During Operation for University Programs

During operation, a University Program must do the following:

  • Establish a supervision structure for authorized adults overseen by the Program Director 
  • Provide an adequate supervision ratio of minors to authorized adults (see below)
    • Minimum of two authorized adults to provide supervision 
  • Limit transportation of minors to university-owned vehicles driven by authorized adults who have completed applicable training required by the university, or a third-party common carrier retained by the university through an agreement approved by Risk Management 
    • Age appropriate safety restraints should be used 
  • Comply with procedures applicable to University Programs with online activities 
  • Comply with any other procedures that may be implemented by Risk Management 
  • Comply with the Concussion and Head Injury Policy as applicable 
  • Take reasonable measures to provide for the physical and safety of minors 
  • 5 years & younger — 1 staff for every 5 overnight campers and 1 staff for each 6 day campers
    6–8 years — 1:6 for overnight, and 1:8 for day
    9–14 years — 1:8 for overnight and 1:10 for day
    15–18 years — 1:10 for overnight and 1:12 for day
